Measuring and advice
We measure every opening in the home and help you choose material, opening type, glass and colour according to orientation, noise and how each room is used.
uPVC and aluminium windows
Made to measure by our trusted supplier: uPVC with its natural thermal break or aluminium with a thermal break, as tilt-and-turn, sliding or fixed units.
Glass and shutters
Double or triple glazing with a cavity and low-emissivity glass; aluminium roller shutters, compact or motorised, and insect screens.
Removal of the old frames
We take out the old windows, remove the subframes if necessary and clear the rubble with a skip when the job calls for it.
Fitting and sealing
We set the window level and plumb, fix it to the wall and seal with low-expansion foam and exterior silicone so neither water nor air gets in.
Masonry and paint finishing
We rebuild reveals, sills and drip cills, and leave the opening painted. You are not left with a new window and a broken wall.
Entrance and internal doors
Security or aluminium front doors, flat or sliding internal doors and adjustment of frames and hardware.

How we fit a window so neither air nor water gets in
A good window badly fitted insulates worse than an ordinary window fitted well. That is why the first step is measuring: we measure each opening at three points across and three points high and check the squareness, because in older homes almost no opening is a perfect rectangle. The manufacturer produces the window to those measurements.
On fitting day we remove the old frames carefully, damaging no more wall than necessary. If the subframe is sound we keep it; if it is old aluminium, rusted or loose, we take it out and clean up the opening. We offer up the new window, pack it level and plumb and fix it to the wall with screws and anchors at the number of points the manufacturer specifies.
The sealing is where the insulation is won or lost: low-expansion polyurethane foam around the whole perimeter to fill without distorting the frame, and outside, neutral-cure silicone or expanding tape to stop water getting through. We finish with the masonry work: reveals, sill, drip cill with a drip groove and paint. We adjust the hardware, test the closing of every sash and explain the maintenance.
Windows for homes by the sea
In Dénia, Jávea or Gandía beach, windows suffer three things: sun, salt and wind. For south- and west-facing elevations we recommend solar-control glass as well as low-emissivity, so the house does not turn into a greenhouse in August. On the seafront, powder-coated aluminium with a thermal break or uPVC withstand the salt without corroding; we avoid aluminium without a thermal break, which is what is usually already there and what gives the most cold and condensation.
In holiday apartments, noise from the street or the promenade is the main complaint. Double glazing with panes of different thicknesses and a tilt-and-turn window with a good seal cut the noise considerably; if the street is very noisy, we can go to acoustic laminated glass.
Metalwork: grilles, railings and welded structures
Within our renovations we also take care of the metalwork: security grilles for ground floors and garages, staircase and terrace railings, steel doors, welded structures and automatic roller shutters for commercial premises. In the renovation of a 200 m² commercial unit in Dénia we fitted the automatic roller entrance door as part of the same job; in a house in Dénia we made a staircase with a welded structure and timber treads.
We work the steel with welding, anti-rust primer and a painted or powder-coated finish, and the same company always does the finishing: you are not left with the grille up and the anchor holes unfilled.
Common mistakes we avoid
- Fitting onto a rotten subframe to save on building work: within months the window moves and water gets in.
- Filling with high-expansion foam, which distorts the frame and leaves sashes that rub.
- Forgetting the drip cill or leaving it without a drip groove: water runs back towards the wall and damp appears under the window.
- Large windows without assessing the lintel: creating an opening is structural work and has to be done properly.
- Pairing aluminium without a thermal break with high-end glass: the profile is still the cold bridge and condenses just the same.
Indicative timescales
Manufacturing made-to-measure windows usually takes three to five weeks depending on the model. Fitting all the windows in a flat is a matter of one or two days, and the finishing and painting two or three more. If the replacement is part of a full renovation, we plan it so the windows go in just before the finishes. Grilles and railings are made to measure on a similar lead time.
If you live away for part of the year, we can do the measuring at one visit and the fitting while you are not there, sending you photos when it is done.

Frequently asked questions about windows and metalwork
How long does it take to replace the windows in a house?
From measuring to fitting it usually takes three to six weeks, because they are made to measure. The fitting itself is quick: in an ordinary flat we replace all the windows in one or two days, and the masonry and paint finishing takes another couple of days.
uPVC or aluminium?
uPVC insulates better against heat and noise and needs no maintenance; it is what we fit most in homes. Aluminium with a thermal break allows slimmer profiles and larger openings, and stands up very well to the sea air. We go through it with you opening by opening.

Does replacing a window involve building work?
It depends. If the old subframe is sound, the new window is fitted onto it with very little work. If it is rusted or poorly fixed, we remove it and rebuild the opening. Either way we leave the reveals and sill finished and painted.
Can you create a new opening for a large picture window?
Yes. We did it in a full renovation in Ondara: we opened up the enclosure between the living room and the terrace, fitted the lintel and prepared the opening for a large-format window. It requires assessing the structure and, depending on the case, the paperwork with the town hall.
Do you make grilles and railings to measure?
Yes. We fabricate and fit welded structures: security grilles for ground floors, staircase and terrace railings, steel doors and automatic roller shutters for commercial premises, with the masonry and paint finishing included.
Do you fit shutters and insect screens?
Yes, as part of the same installation: compact or boxed aluminium roller shutters, motorised if you like, and sliding, roller or fixed insect screens.
