Renovating in Jávea: homes and clients
Jávea has two very different sides. In the old town and the port there are flats and houses belonging to families who live here all year round. On the urbanisations climbing towards the Montgó, Cabo de la Nao or Tosalet there are houses built between the 70s and 90s, many of them owned by people who spend only a few months a year here.
These houses tend to share the same problems: bathrooms with a bathtub and small tiles, kitchens separated from the living room, an electrical installation too small for today's appliances, iron pipes with low pressure and terraces that leak into the floor below. These are renovations that rarely stop at one room: the job is used to check the services and sort out the damp.
Working with owners who are not here
Many of our clients in Jávea are British, Dutch, German or from Madrid and Valencia, and cannot be on site. For them the process is the same as for any renovation, but with extra care on two points: everything in writing (itemised quotation, materials chosen, changes priced before they are made) and follow-up with photos and videos of every stage. We can also take delivery of materials and coordinate deliveries when nobody is at the house.

Frequently asked questions about renovating in Jávea / Xàbia
I do not live in Jávea all year. How do we keep track of the work?
We agree access to the property, send you photos and videos of each stage, and the important decisions (materials, changes) are confirmed in writing before they are carried out. At handover we go through the work with you, in person or by video call.
Can you deal with us in English?
We can communicate in English for the essentials of the job, although the quotation and paperwork are provided in Spanish. If you need everything in English, let us know when you get in touch.
Do you do complete villa renovations in Jávea?
Yes. Bathrooms, kitchen, services, plasterboard, painting and terraces with a single team responsible. We do not do swimming pools, facades or roofs.
How long does a bathroom renovation take in Jávea?
A complete bathroom usually takes between one and two weeks depending on the scope. In houses on the urbanisations with several bathrooms we run them back to back to reduce the overall time on site.
